CUCKOO is the true autobiographical stories of living with Dissociative Identity Disorder [formerly Multiple Personality Disorder.] These comics are out and about in the world because I needed to see more multiples and ex-multiples speaking for themselves in public. For this reason I chose autobiography. Believe me, I'd rather have drawn fiction, or another person's biography. But only through autobio could I stand behind the story and say, "This IS authentic." I'm integrated now, but when I drew CUCKOO I was still healing. All of the handwriting changes and stories from different alters/parts of my head were written via dissociation or by literally listening to the voices in my head...
